How can we better listen to and enjoy music with our children?

Our afternoon event will feature Alexis Aldrich, a composer and pianist who will play for us and share ideas that will help us better listen to music with our children.

We will also share a brief overview of music study in Mason’s curriculum, experience immersion lessons focusing on music study, and give you an opportunity to ask your questions about music study.

Our Past Events

CM NorCal hosted its first event, a Mother’s Day Out, in June 2025 at the Crocker Art Museum.

We had a wonderful day together! We enjoyed meeting other Mason educators, explored different ways to study art, made friends with works of art, and shared lunch and a discussion of a PNEU Article about Picture Talks.

Our second event was held in Petaluma in Fall 2025. We considered the idea of how we can be a “guide, philosopher, and friend” to our children and students. We read and discussed Ch. 5 in Vol. 6 (The Sacredness of Personality) in small groups and as a large group. We immersed ourselves in lessons, enjoyed a nature walk together, and shared stories and questions over lunch and our breaks. It was a delightful and refreshing time together.
